Happy Halloween!

One of my favorite things about fall in Chicago’s Lincoln Park and Old Town neighborhoods is seeing all the pumpkins and gourds that people use to decorate their homes. Even the tiniest little cluster brings such joy.

And then in the Gold Coast you get glorious displays of autumnal abundance such as this one.

I love it when the sky in all directions continues to glow for a while after the sun goes down, before finally fading into darkness.

It's still warm down here in the Florida Panhandle, but slowly but surely the seasons are changing. Little touches of orange and red leaves are appearing, and you can definitely feel a chilliness in the breeze.

One of the reasons my favorite town along 30A is Seaside is because it's surrounded by the magical community of WaterColor, easily identifiable by its iconic streetlamps.

The entrance to their extensive trail system is this wooden boardwalk next to a fountain that heads straight towards a bridge over Western Lake.

The homes in WaterColor are not as colorful as Seaside, but their yellow Tennis Center stands out with some nice architectural details.

Crossing the wooden pedestrian bridges that dot this community reinforces the feeling of being connected to nature. Turtles and frogs can often be seen in the water below.
