We accidentally stumbled upon Cape San Blas back in 2023 when we took a road trip to St. George Island on my birthday. After an underwhelming couple of hours at the state park, we decided on a whim to swing by CSB on the way back, and have been hooked ever since.
Last year we visited twice, which made this our fourth trip to the cape. The sargassum was really bad on the gulf side this year, but we weren't affected because we spent most of our time kayaking on Saint Joseph Bay.
It was so peaceful just floating out there staring into the horizon, and observing the wildlife like this beautiful white heron.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all these pelicans roosting on a boat lift. Such fascinating creatures!
We also enjoyed biking along the Loggerhead Run Bike Path.
As night began to approach, we heeded the painful lessons learned from previous trips, and took refuge in our room to avoid getting attacked by biting insects.
But once it was pitch dark we reemerged to do some stargazing at the end of the dock.
