Christmas Eve in Charleston

Here is my photo diary of Christmas Eve 2022 in Charleston, SC. There was a ridiculous cold snap over the weekend with temperatures dropping down to 18 degrees. But that didn’t stop us from exploring the historic district, eating at a fancy restaurant, and seeing the Atlantic Ocean. I wouldn’t mind visiting again!

Christmas in Seaside

Last year Seaside went all-out with their holiday decorations. I really liked the way they lit up the iconic Coleman Pavilion. They also had some holiday-themed murals which were very festive.

I love how quiet and peaceful Seaside is in the winter, it’s a totally different vibe from the chaotic summer crowds.

This collage has a loose “Liz Taylor” theme. Details of items of interest shared below.

I took all these photos, but in some cases I took a picture of a piece of artwork.

Christmas Eve in Pensacola

To celebrate our first Christmas Eve in the Florida Panhandle in 2021, we took a day trip to Pensacola. I loved this huge inflatable Grinch.

The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel was built in 1886, but traces its roots to the 16th century exploration of Northwest Florida. Love that blue ceiling!

Beautiful sunset glow as seen from the Pensacola Bay Bridge as we headed home.

Chicago’s Tribune Tower has a fascinating collection of stone and brick fragments embedded in its exterior. Here are some of my favorites.
