John Hancock

They recently changed the name, but to me this iconic building will always be the John Hancock.

On a clear day it’s a landmark that can be easily seen from Lincoln Park.

I always enjoyed randomly catching a glimpse of it while out and about in the city.

Hands down my favorite modern skyscraper in Chicago!

Freezing a perfect moment in a photograph feels magical. The way sunshine hits a tree atop a building, an airplane in just the right spot, neatly manicured hedges behind a fancy fence, a peach colored building against a gray Chicago sky, a strangely dignified looking parking garage, and the Sears Tower from the roof of Whole Foods Lincoln Park.

Life is fleeting, but full of wonders if you stop to look.

The Superdawg Drive-In on Milwaukee Avenue is such an awesome Chicagloand institution. My favorite order is a Superdawg with a Pineapple Supershake.

The pickled green tomato on the side is unique and delicious. We’ve also been to their location in Wheeling which is very nice!

The Old Ferris Wheel

Here are some photos I took of the old Ferris wheel at Chicago’s Navy Pier before it was replaced by the Centennial Wheel in 2016.

The old Ferris wheel was built in 1995, and had 40 gondolas that were open to the air.

We went back again after dinner to see the Chicago skyline at night.

Here are some of my recently rediscovered photos of the AIC from 10 years ago that I posted on Twitter using the now defunct ‘Twitpic’ platform. Enjoy!
